THE LARGEST COVERED SPORTS CENTER IN THE NETHERLANDS: THE UITHOF IN THE HAGUE
It all started in 1970, 50 years ago now, with a 400-meter ice rink and an ice hockey hall. The first pile was driven on December 17, 1970. About two years later, on January 2, 1973, the ice rink of De Uithof officially opened its doors.
For 30 years De Uithof was the place to come skating with the whole family. Children could learn to skate in the ice hockey hall and advanced on the 400-meter track speed skaters. The skating rink was the first activity of De Uithof, now the largest indoor sports center in the Netherlands.
NUMBER OF ACTIVITIES, INSIDE, UNDER ONE ROOF
In 2000, the range was expanded and De Uithof turned into a versatile sports center. A snow track was built for indoor skiing and snowboarding. The construction of a go-kart track took place and De Uithof was expanded with a climbing wall, laser gamearena, airsoft arena and a gym. In addition, several rooms were set up as meeting rooms. All this in one location in The Hague.
Any age and group size can come to us. De Uithof is the best place for an active birthday party, school trip, company outing or outing with friends or family. Or come skating, skiing, snowboarding or climbing yourself. Take skating lessons at our skating school. Or take ski or snowboard lessons. It’s all possible at De Uithof!
In all those years we have received millions of visitors. We are therefore proud to once again be in sixth place in the list of the most visited Dutch day attractions, according to a publication by NBTC Holland Marketing and Responds in 2018. To offer our visitors the complete experience, De Uithof also has a restaurant and a bar. In combination with the wide range of activities, De Uithof is therefore the perfect complete day out. Are you coming to look for the adventure?
