De Uithof
The historic skating rink of De Uithof has been around for almost 50 years. Champions such as Ben van den Burg, Bart Veldkamp, Jac Orie and Kjeld Nuis rode their rounds on our ice rink. Skating rink De Uithof is the perfect place for an afternoon of skating, but also for following a course or a company activity. What are you going to do at the ice rink?
Our 400-meter rink is one of the oldest ice rinks in the Netherlands and certainly not the least! The ice rink was officially opened on January 2, 1973. A roof was built in 1989, making the track semi-covered. We now welcome thousands of skaters to this activity every year and Kjeld Nuis of the Team Reggeborgh skating team has started skating on our 400-meter track. Skating rink De Uithof is open from October till April.
In the middle area of the 400-meter track is the covered funrink of 30 x 60 meters, an activity for young and old. The funrink can easily be reached via the footbridge. On the funrink you do not have to take the mandatory driving direction. This makes this track ideal for figure skating or skating for beginners. This rink is also used as a playing field for curling clinics. The funrink is open from October till April*.
* Availability of the funrink is subject to change at all times. For example, the funrink can be (partly) rented out for another activity, such as curling clinics or ice hockey training.
We also have an ice hockey rink. This rink is the operating base for ice hockey club Hijs, but the rink is used for more purposes. The track is also suitable for novice skaters, school skating, figure skating, short track speed skating and the activity curling. Something for everyone! The Ice Hockey Rink is open from September to April.
